It's done..............LCW played his final high school football game Friday night. They did not come home with the "W" but ask ANYONE there (even the opposing team) THEY were the CHAMPIONS. The Rebels were down 35-14 going into the 2nd half. What took place for the next 24 minutes was by far one of the most emotional and phenomenal things I will ever see in my lifetime. The Rebels battled back not only to tie the game 35-35 but raised the bar and re-defined the terms WILL, DESIRE, DEDICATION, DISCIPLINE, HARD WORK, TEAMWORK and.... NEVER give up! (final score 49-42) For 24 minutes they displayed WHY the game exists............. they gave REASON to the last 4 years of WHY they made the sacrifice and chose to play the game........they gave ANTICIPATION and ANXIOUSNESS to the underclassman and HONOR to ANYONE who had ANYTHING to do with preparing them for those 24 minutes. But most of all they set a standard for their own take on their future.....DO WE SETTLE AND GIVE UP OR DO WE PRESS ON-GIVE IT OUR BEST? AND IF OUR BEST DOES NOT MEAN A MARK IN THE "W" COLUMN....... we will have NO REGRETS!
World................meet the 2008 class of Rebel Football!
If you know anything about the game of football you know that the offensive line gets the least amount of credit (unless they are not blocking and the team doesn't score.) an OFFENSIVE LINESMAN is one who stands tall and strong - one who keeps the defenders back - one who makes way for the ballcarrier to gain yards and score.
In other words.....be true to yourself and God-stand your ground-keep the enemy at bay and be kind to others.....................
ALL qualities of a fine human being!
This is my Offensive Lineman, my REBEL, my #56- my LANDON!

great blog post Monica!!!
Great way to memorialize this chapter of your son's high school football career. I know that this lesson will be carried out throughout his adult life. Time to return to scrapbooking!
what beautiful sentiments about your son and how proud of him you are --lots.
