You scrap'd WHAT?

This is a 2 pg l/o I worked on last night for BSD's 2nd grade book. It's from Grandparent's Day last year 2008. I went to TREASURED MEMORIES at least 3 times with these pics to match paper......it was hard! there were so many shades of blue.......I found some polka dot "my mind's eye" paper and some old scraps that I tore and ink'd. I also used some left over Basic Grey rub-ons, mirror hearts, prima flowers, ribbon and rhinestone brads. I did do one really neat thing....I placed a "mask" on a canvas circle and sprayed it with Glimmer Mist and then really darken'd the edges with ink.........I looks pretty cool.
I struggled with color but I was ok with the way it came out.

OK....this is FUNNY. If you know me you know that I don't scrap for the beauty of pictures, nor for the sheer pleasure of using new products. What drives me is EVENTS! I get a complete RUSH when I notice something around me that has CHANGED, in the process of CHANGING or that will no long BE. Well.....this is one of those l/o. In 2008 our local city gov't contracted with a new waste collection company that used automated trucks. Never again would I see employees ride on the back of a trash truck -jump off while the truck was still rolling forward, run to the curb, grab my trash can- tip it over (dropping several items that were meant for ONLY the trash) and THROW it back towards my property (never making it-of course). NO....now I would hear the rumble of the truck and then with no human presence.....watch the metal robotic arm reach out- hook on to my -NEW....VERY VERY BLUE -trash box.
Well....on the first day that these BLUE BOXES were exposed.........I drove out my driveway and just took a glance down the road..............and there it was........................EVIDENCE of modern day technology and another job taken over by machines..........................
and oh ....by the way.............I hate the blue........I always purchased trashcans that matched my house...........NOPE-not any more......I guess it was a man that chose the color-------never thought about the look of the ENTIRE PICTURE (hahahahahahah)
note: purposely spelled neig[BEAR]hood and not neighborhood; it relates to the name of our subdivision :)

peace be among us
